Plucky Pigeon Knits was established in 2015 by Caitlin Shepherd, a passionate knitter and pattern-writer who specializes in stranded colourwork. Plucky Pigeon Knits was established in 2015 by Caitlin Shepherd, a passionate knitter and pattern-writer who specializes in stranded colourwork. Her patterns are often intricate and whimsical, and they incorporate both traditional and modern knitting techniques. Caitlin believes that the art of knitting is meant to bring joy, beauty, and fun, both in process and in product! When not knitting, Caitlin enjoys working in her garden, spending time with her 2 children and her husband, and playing the violin and the banjo!

Caitlin's patterns are a celebration of colour, texture, and technique. They offer a wide range of experience levels, from beginner to expert, and are inclusively sized, with adult patterns ranging from a 28-30 inch (71-76 centimetre) chest to a 60-64 inch (or 152.5-162.5 centimetre) chest. The patterns are designed with the whole family

The patterns are designed with the whole family in mind, and many of the favourite lines include both children's sizes, adult sizes, and even matching mittens and hats. Designed to showcase a multitude of wools and yarns, there is sure to be something that fits your esthetic! Finally, all of our patterns are carefully edited and tested to ensure the highest quality and satisfaction for knitters.

She truly believes in the power of knitting to bring people together, and has delighted in developing new relationships with dyers, weavers, spinners, and knitters, both online and in person. She works hard to support and promote a welcoming and inclusive community in all her knitterly endeavours.
